Exam Format

Written mathematics supplementary exam (EPM) at Vorstudienlehrgang Graz. There is no oral part.

Trigonometry

Law of sines, law of cosines, surveying problems

Vector Calculus

Planes, distances, angles, circumcircle, reflection points

Growth and Decay

Exponential growth, decay, half-life

Differential and Integral Calculus

Curve sketching, tangents, area calculation, rotational volumes

5

Probability Theory

Binomial distribution, normal distribution, conditional probability

Exam Fee

The exam fee is 66 €. Payment confirmation must be sent to office@vguh.at. The fee is non-refundable.

Grading

  • Grading scale: 1 (Sehr gut / Excellent) — 5 (Nicht genügend / Fail)
  • A grade of at least 4 (Genügend / Sufficient) is required to pass
  • Grade 5 (Nicht genügend) means the exam is not passed

Retakes

Up to 3 retakes are allowed (4 attempts total). The 4th attempt is a commission exam (Kommissionsprüfung). Deregistration is possible up to 5 working days before the exam date.

  • Mathematische Formelsammlung (AHS) by ÖBV-Verlag — your own copy
  • Writing materials

Not allowed

  • Smartphones and electronic devices
  • Own notes or reference materials (except Formelsammlung)
  • Programmable or graphing calculators

Registration

  • Register via the portal public.vguh.at
  • The exam can be taken without attending the VGUH course
  • Deregistration at least 5 working days before the exam
