Vienna Informatics Entrance Test 2027: Dates & Registration
The universities have not published the dates for the 2027 entrance test yet. The details below are from the 2026 cycle and show when registration and the test last took place.

In 2026 both universities held the test on the same day, 13 July. You cannot sit it at both: the TU Wien FAQ states plainly that the two tests take place at the same time and that only one university can admit you.
Caution: these dates can change. Confirm your day and the exact start time on the official page of the university you are sitting the test at, before you plan anything around it.
- Uni Wien: test on 13 July 2026 (a Monday), on site in Vienna, with no alternative dates.
- TU Wien: on-site ranking test (Reihungstest) on 13 July 2026 (a Monday).
- The tests run at the same time, so you can only sit the test at one university.

Registration, deadline and fee
Before you are allowed to sit the test, you must pre-register, pay the fee and complete an online self-assessment. Only then are you admitted to the test day.
For 2026 pre-registration ran at TU Wien from 1 April, at the University of Vienna from 2 March, at both until 4 May 2026, and the online self-assessment had to be finished by 4 May 2026. That deadline has now passed. For future years the dates are typically in spring, and each university publishes the exact window anew.

Make the time before the test count
The best use of the weeks before your test day is the cognitive part, since it is about half the score and pure practice. Number sequences, syllogisms, word analogies and matrices can be drilled to confidence under time pressure.
