Like WISO, WiRe is not a VWU Ergänzungsprüfung: it's the short name for WU Vienna's Bachelor's Program in Business Law (also branded 'JUS+') and, by extension, its entrance test. It belongs to the same WU selection-procedure family as WISO, triggered whenever registrations for the 6-semester, 180-ECTS program exceed capacity, 870 places as of the 2026/27 cycle.
As of the 2026/27 cycle, the procedure has two stages: a non-graded online self-assessment, then a 2-hour on-site written exam split into a legal part and a German-language part. No prior legal knowledge is assumed. - Even though no prior legal knowledge is assumed, the legal section is in German legal terminology, so build core legal vocabulary alongside general grammar review
- Practice timed reading comprehension on newspaper-style German texts for the language section

Do I need to have studied law before?
